What Are We Lacking?

In Yesterday's sermon at church, the message focused on the fact that, as humans, we tend to focus too much on what we lack in our lives and not on what we already have. We focus on the wealth, how athletic we may be, what our looks are, whether we have a big house, or if we are wearing the lastest fashions. I.e. things we think will make our lives better. Pastor Alan then proceeded to raise a question to the congregation - what is Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, and those athletes currently under investigation for performance enhancing drugs lacking? You think they have it all? You're wrong. They may seem to have it all, but they too are lacking something. Pastor Alan then proceeded to remind all of us that each of us are somebody, therefore we should do something with it. We are already complete, worthy, and acceptable by God's principles. Be thankful that we have a house, a family, love, job, and faith. We just need to stop once in a while and realize that we do have everything we need. We can't take our material possessions with us to Heaven, nor are we measured by what we had, but what we do with this life that God so graciously gave us. It was a good sermon and I wanted to share Pastor Alan's words with you.

The next time you think you are lacking something, take a moment to stop and look around for that gentle reminder that you already have everything you need right in front of you!

He is such a wonderful pastor! We are very blessed to have him as our messenger of The Word. I missed being there today even though I was at my parent's house. That says something for "my raising" and for my church. :) Love you guys!
