Aside from the Halloween festivities, this is our favorite time of year!! We are already all decked out in decorations inside and out. We usually decorate over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. The kids (well.....honestly, me) get anxious about getting everything out. We have a lot of fun and it ends up taking up most of the weekend.
The kids are having a lot of fun waking up each morning and rushing downstairs to look where Jingles has hid himself. He has found some pretty cool spots so far this year. We love watching them get into this stuff.....it's such a nice reminder of how innocent kids are and how even the slightest little things gives so much sense of wonder and joy. It's priceless really. With J&C, I am not sure we can pull this off next year though. The questions are already starting about whether Santa is REAL. They are starting to hear things at school to say otherwise. We haven't gotten too heavily into the discussion yet, but it's just a matter of time. We have a few more years though with Lauren.
Shopping is almost all done, presents are wrapped and sorted, Christmas cards need to be mailed out, and we are getting ready for our trip to Vermont. We are all very excited to spend a Vermont Christmas this year with my folks. Hope there will be lots of snow again for us.
We also look forward to all of the festivities here in the community. The HOA company have really outdone themselves this year - there are a lot of things planned over the next 2 weeks. This year will be the first annual Illumination and house decorating contest. Hopefully we will be a contender! Wish us luck..... Have I mentioned how much we love our neighborhood?!
Hope this Christmas season is filled with holiday cheer and merriment for all of you. Enjoy the remaining days leading up to Christmas.
