Spring Break has come to a close and the kids had a busy, but fun week. Earlier in the week, the kids got together with some friends, spent the night at Pops & Gigi's, and just plain ole had fun. On Thursday, Stacey took the kids to the Richmond Zoo (see video in previous post) with some other mommies and had a blast. After a long day at the Zoo, I took them to Caledon Natural Area for an evening of "Owl Prowl" We learned about the different types of owls in the area, and hopped on a wagon and traversed through the woods so we could see and listen for owls. We got to see some Bald Eagles flying around and a even saw a Barred Owl fly literally 10 feet above our wagon before perching itself on a tree and watch us watch him. It was a neat experience for the kids. I definitely want to do these type of outings more often. I need to look at what some of the other parks may be offering in the coming months.
On Friday, Stacey met up with the Huffs and Steimers for the day so all the twins could play together. Saturday, the family did the March of Dimes walk (5K) in Fredericksburg. The kids did great and didn't complain at all during the walk. It was fun and we thought it was important for the kids to do this. Lauren was great in her stoller the whole time. Who wouldn't, she was being pushed around in a stroller, all nice and relaxed! HA. Stacey had the opportunity to promote Stoller Strides by doing the warm up exercises before the walk began. She did great! It was so beautiful on Saturday, that we pretty much stayed outside the whole afternoon. We got a little crazy by getting together with some of our neighbors and had a water ballon fight. Even us adults got in on the action. It's just so nice to be able to still let loose and be a kid once in a while.
Yesterday, Stacey's Aunt and Uncle from PA stopped by to visit for a few hours. They had been traveling all week, visiting family in MS, GA, and TN. I think the kids had a great week! We did our best to keep them busy, but had fun in the process as well. If you haven't seen the below video yet, enjoy! We'll post more this week.
