Adoption is Officially Over!

It's finally official.... the adoption process is over and we have received Lauren's legal birth certificate with her official name - Lauren Jenna Broughton. We are thrilled that the process is over. Yet, it is still hard to believe that it nearly took 18 months for this process. We started in Feb. 07 when we first learned that Meghan was pregnant and we reached out to her expressing our interest in adopting the baby.

Although we were able to skip some of the normal legal steps in the process, I still feel that it took way too long. We can't imagine what it must feel like when a couple has to go through all the normal hoops to adopt; especially when there are SO many kids looking to be adopted.

We will be forever grateful to Meghan for allowing us to bring Lauren into our lives. Lauren has been an absolute joy and wonderful addition to this family and we love her with all of our hearts and is so loved by many.
