So Melinda's mother and step-father rented a lake house for 6 weeks this summer at SML and they invited our family to spend a few days there. I left with the kids on Tuesday and John joined us Friday morning with Uncle Mike, Aunt Kristin, and Mr. Patrick. The lake house was right on the water. They had a ski boat, pontoon boat, wave runner, skis, wake board, and intertubes. So needless to say we stayed busy in the water. I even attempted wake boarding and got up (briefly) twice! My legs and arms are still hurting....
The kids loved being pulled on the back of the boat in the two-seater intertube. They were pros by Day 2. Aunt Kristin even tried the two-seater and wave runner a few times. We were all waiting for her to go into labor after the boat rides, but nothing yet! Melinda's attempted to fling John off the intertubes were futile. As she describes "His clinging abilities were tic-like. I just couldn't shake the little bugger off"."
Melinda's mom is a terrific cook so she kept us well fed the whole time with interesting dishes, fresh fruits and fun desserts. Each night after the kids went to bed, we would stay up and play cards or sit outside on the deck talking. We were not ready to pack it up yesterday and come home, but we had to get back to reality sometime. Thanks again to Melinda and her family for inviting us to spend some time there. We feel so blessed to have such wonderful, giving friends.

Love the pictures. The lake looks beautiful, much like Vermont.....
Glad you had such a great time. Now you are rested and ready to be up all night with a baby..... I bet you are counting the days.
