Jack had his tonsils and adenoids removed yesterday morning and boy is he in pain! He has been such a trooper through all of this and has been doing great! We are so proud of him. He was not scared at all while we were in the room waiting for his procedure. When the doctor wheeled him out, he was extremely brave. Of course, Mom and Dad were sitting in the waiting room nervous about the outcome. The procedure took about an hour and Dr. Leiser was very pleased with the outcome. Jack had very little bleeding and according to the doctor, it was a good thing we had them removed, because Jack had enlarged tonsils and adenoids for someone his age. Recovery went as well as could be expected, considering. We were transferred to the Ped Ward so the nurses could observe and monitor his recovery. Diana and Mason came to visit to offer support. It was great to have Mason (Jack's bud) there because he went through the same thing back in May and I think it helped comfort Jack knowing that it will get better, because Mason did. Mason brought Jack a new pair of Superman PJs, which he wore last night to bed. We were discharged around 4:30 and we stopped on the way home for a milkshake which Jack enjoyed. We plan on taking it easy around here for the next few days. Hopefully his recovery will go well.
Thank you to all of you who have called to check in, and sent gifts and cards. We appreciate your concern in checking in on our "jackie boy" :)
