We are delighted to announce the arrival of another blessing into our lives - our good friends Mike and Kristin from our old 'hood, gave birth to a girl on Thursday, August 31. Lauren and Mikayla are 6 hours apart!! Like Meghan, Kristin was due this past weekend as well and was scheduled for an induction on Wednesday. Due to the number of births at Mary Washington Hospital, the doctors kept pushing Kristin back. When she went in to see her doctor on Wed afternoon to check and see if the baby was stressed, her doctor admitted her because of a slight increase in her blood pressure. We are so happy for the Kainus!
How we met the Kainus: When we were in the process of moving back to F'burg from Silver Spring, we met at the Hosaflook's (also neighbors from the old 'hood) annual block party. The Hosaflooks lived behind us and just a few doors down from the Kainus. We met at the party in 2001 and immediately hit it off. During the party, we found out that we were already practically neighbors because they lived in the EXACT same apt complex (Aston Woods) in Silver Springs as we did! We could not believe it. We immediately became friends and have been so ever since. We were destined to be friends - God had a plan to bring us together. When Stacey was on bed rest at the hospital for those long 9 weeks with the twins, they visited us every other day and were there when the twins were born and have been there for us through thick and thin (they are such good peeps!). We now do annual beach trips to OBX with them.
Now with two baby girls in our lives, growing up together is going to be a blast. We look forward to spending many more years with them watching our girls grow up.
